Meriwether Park is situated within a residential subdivision just one block north of Evergreen at 1401 Florida Street, and serves as a neighborhood park for the Hall High neighborhood and surrounding area.  Originally called “Hall Cove Park”, the 10-acre site was developed in 1973-1974 on land acquired in 1967.  Principal funding was provided through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.  The park is named in honor of former Little Rock City Manager, John T. Meriwether.

In 2022, the HHNA began discussions with Little Rock Parks and Recreation staff to identify volunteer opportunities to help maintain and further enhance the beauty of the park.  Click on the Events link for more information and ways you can volunteer.

The park features a picnic area with charcoal grill, a paved trail, wood benches throughout, a baseball field, a tennis/pickleball court, restrooms, and two playground areas. The park is open sunrise to sunset. The outer trail is an easy, 0.3 mile loop with elevation gain of 29 ft. This is a popular spot for birding, trail running and walking. Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash.
